Green Kids Incorporated (Green Kids) is a non-profit, live-theatre group, and the first charity in Canada dedicated solely to environmental education for young people through performance.

Our Mission: To educate children and teachers on environmental issues and to inspire them to take positive action towards protecting our environment.
Our Method: Environmental education in elementary and middle schools through live theatre.
Our Approach: Green Kids has never been more relevant, timely or necessary. As the challenges facing our environment emerge to the forefront of Canadian and global consciousness, it is imperative that we teach children about our environment and the positive impact they can still have on the future of our planet. With all of the talk in the media about global-warming, extreme weather and other environmental crises facing the world, the negative news can be scary for children. For Green Kids, the goal is to see the next generation of Canadians growing up with “green dreams” on their mind, not nightmares. Green Kids seeks to empower children by providing them with facts about environmental issues in a positive manner, and then equipping them with simple but effective tools to live “greenly”.
Our History: Green Kids was established in 1991 to address the need for entertaining, educational programming for school-aged children about the importance of environmental stewardship. Geared towards inspiring a new generation of environmentally conscious adults, the first Green Kids tour was only one week long and reached 2,000 children. In the last 18 years Green Kids has grown in vision and scope and has entertained over 1 million students, their educators, and local communities in over 1,000 schools. Additionally, we have been nominated three times for the Sustainable Development Award of Excellence, and are the winners of the Nature’s Path 2012 Envirokidz Giving Back Award.
Since its inception, Green Kids has continued to function as a highly dynamic group, continually growing in size and scope. The tour now includes, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario and has reached over 1 million children with an environmental message.
